Thursday evening (Jan. 16th), we are partnering with NYC design alchemist and milliner Heidi Lee (heidi337) for MAKE, a hands-on workshop where each participant will fabricate their own hat or fascinator inspired by The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier. Heidi Lee, a RISD graduate, is known for crafting unconventional hats, including her 3D-printed Cocktail Parasol Hat that won the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2012 Costume Institute Accessory Design Award.
In preparation for the workshop, our Adult Programs Coordinator, Alicia Boone got a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a designer when she went shopping with Heidi in the garment district last week, perusing and selecting the perfect materials for the class that are sure to please the soon-to-be haberdashers out there.
See our website for ticket info.
